How We Sustainably Certified Our Business

Meet sustainability goals for your business without breaking your operating budget

Recently CREATE Strategy became Climate Certified (TM) under Offset Alliance, to help make sure our internal processes are working as harmoniously, sustainably and reciprocally as the ones we create with our external partners and clients.

Choosing to Become Certified

Choosing to be sustainably certified, and "WHY” to get certified, as a small business is a very personal and a very business-specific choice. Once you choose to be certified, you’re faced with the choice of which certification to go with - there are many! However, one thing that always stays the same, all certifications show how a business is committed to meeting a certain level of standard related to social, environmental and economic sustainability.

Choosing a Specific Certification

When it comes to ESG - environmental, social and governance - credentials there is not currently a standardized certification. There are many organizations that offer ESG programs and frameworks that analyze businesses on their institutional performance, investment and commitment, such as, UN Sustainable Development Goals, Global Reporting Initiative, MSCI ESG Ratings. Learning about the different focuses of each framework, which framework each program uses, how each program does their calculations and analysis, and finally looking at what companies they utilize to support any offsets - if offsets are part of their program.

Why Offset Alliance?

CREATE Strategy is a service business. We do a lot of travel to find, meet and support our clients. We wanted to find an ESG certification that aligned with our needs and our commitment to build a more sustainable reciprocal business, client base and world. After looking through a variety of certifications, we felt Offset Alliance had clear alignment with what we do as a small service-oriented business, as well as our future goals, including our hope of becoming a B Corp company as we grow.

In today’s business landscape, sustainability is no longer optional—it’s a responsibility. Getting certified is a tangible way to demonstrate commitment to meaningful change and to hold your organization, and even your partners accountable for meeting critical environmental, social, and governance standards. When aligning with a certification program that reflects similar values and goals, like CREATE did with Offset Alliance, you not only meet industry standards, you also set precedent for others to contribute to a more sustainable, equitable, and reciprocal future while building trust with those around you - in our case our clients and partners. After all, the difference between those who succeed in sustainability and those who don’t is clear: they don’t just talk about it—they embody it.
